What I Need/Don't Need
What I DO Collect
I started collecting because I fell in love with the cute little
M&M guys. Then in 1997 the guys
were redesigned and all of a sudden they developed "an attitude"
and sex! Sure, the newer guys can
also be cute, and sure, the TV ads are quite clever, but I am still partial
to the older, innocent guys. (I call
them guys, but back then we didn't know whether they were guys or girls. The new characters are definitely guys,
except Green, who is definitely female all the way from her long eyelashes
down to her white high heels.)
Although I have some European items, I concentrate on
collecting items that were made in the United States. My special areas of interest are:
Dispensers (all sizes, but not the
Minis ones)
Pins
Tins (any tins that say
"M&Ms" anywhere on them, whether they were sold with candy in them,
cookies, fudge, whatever)
Toppers (the plastic toys from the
tops of cardboard candy tubes)
Watches
Specific Items I'm Looking For
When this site was first developed, there was a list of items I'm looking for listed just below this paragraph. But
that was before March 2000, when Ken Clee and Joyce Losonsky's book
"M&M's around the World" was published and I discovered lots
and lots of things that I don't have! Therefore, the list is now too long for
this page. However, if you click the link below, you'll get to a
alphabetically organized list of items that I don't have.

What I DON'T Collect
Believe it or not, besides items made in 2000 and after, there are certain categories of earlier M&M
items that I don't collect. (If I
tried to collect every M&M item ever made before 2000, I would go broke!)
Therefore, I made the decision not to collect the
following categories of items.
(However, when someone gave me something from one of these categories
as a gift, I didn't turn it down!)
Anything manufactured after 1999 - my
collection covers the beginning through 1999 only!
Racing Car/Ernie Irvan items
Orange Crispy items
Mini M&Ms (I don't mean
"small", I mean the ones called "Minis")
Ceramic FTD items (but I do
collect the plastic ones - go figure!)
