Hanging out with "Blue". (This photo was taken at WalMart. "Blue" is not part of my collection.)

Avid Collector of M&M MemorabiliaI was an avid collector of M&M memorabilia from 1988 through 2002. I didn't set out to have a collection, it just happened. I thought the little M&M guys were so cute that I starting buying them. Pretty soon…. Well, you can see the results if you click on the links at the left. By design, my collection contains only items made before the year 2000. Who Eats All of the Candy? One of the first things people ask me is, "Do you eat all of the candy that comes with the M&M things?" Generally, no. I eat some of it (peanut butter is my favorite), but I usually give away the candy and just keep the toys (aka "very valuable memorabilia"). Is M&M Collecting a Full-Time Occupation? It very easily could be, but for me it is a part-time hobby. When I take off my "little kid" hat and put on my "corporate world" hat, I am a computer consultant (Microsoft Word in particular) and a technical writer. Developing this web site was an exercise to learn how to use Word to make web pages (which, by the way, I don't recommend - Dreamweaver is much better!). Actually, I have been too busy in the past few years to work on my collection so I'm ready to sell my collection. (See elsewhere on this web site.) Apology for PhotosWhen I first put up this site in 2000, some people had trouble accessing the photos. In July 2001 I actually reduced their quality of the photos (to make smaller files that load more quickly). I'm sure that with modern equipment, just about anyone would be able to access the photos if I replaced them with the original, better quality photos - but I just haven't had time! |
